Wedding Favorites of 2009

When I talk about my approach to photographing a wedding you very often hear me say that it is more than just the who, where, what and when of the day. The wedding day follows a series of moments that are perfectly planned out. The ceremony, portraits, first dance and so on. But sometimes it's what is happening around those moments that help to tell the complete story. I look for those moments too and try to tell the story of that moment in a single shot. Couples will always remember their first dance but may have missed their very excited parents that were looking on from the sidelines. Brides will remember the excited chaos of getting into their dress but might have missed their little niece watching on in the background with equal excitement. And everyone will remember the speeches at the reception but might have missed the very proud mother of the bride watching her maid of honor daughter speak to her newly married sister.

I love how these moments help to tell the story of the day in a personal way. They are always some of my favorites.

What perfect images to represent the special moments of which you speak. Beautifully written & beautifully captured!
